Context
Product safety and compliance with legal and voluntary obligations are priority objectives for all companies in the automotive sector. However, this is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve: markets are diversifying, product variations and complex supply chains are making requirements unclear.
Yet the risks involved are enormous: if product safety and (legal) compliance are not ensured, the very existence of the company may be threatened. Every company should therefore meet these challenges not only for each individual product, but also systematically at organisational level – with a legal product compliance system.
Such a system includes elements for identifying, monitoring, controlling and minimising the risks associated with (legal) product compliance at company level. This enables potential risks to be identified and prevented at an early stage.
In this course, you will learn about the seven components of a product (legal) compliance system. Practical examples will help you understand how to apply them in your company.

- You will know the scope of a (legal) product compliance system, its elements and the corresponding guiding questions.
- You will be able to develop or operate a company-specific Product Compliance concept on this basis.

- This course is aimed at managers and employees of small and medium-sized companies in the automotive industry who are responsible for a Product Compliance System, and who are developing or implementing it or intend to do so in the future.
- It is also aimed at employees within the company who deal with product/technology compliance issues throughout the product life cycle, as well as PSCRs in the relevant functions.

Specific operating conditions for remote sessions
- Have a PC equipped with a microphone, webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: To blur or hide the view from behind, background screens are available in Zoom or Teams.
- A good Internet connection, tested before the session.
- Locate in a quiet, isolated area; switch to “not available” status in Teams; close your email access and mute your phone to avoid distraction during the session.
- To avoid off-topic discussions during the session, participants from the same organisation should not be grouped together in the same room, but rather at their own desks. Virtual sub-groups will be set up specifically for the exercises, which will also allow for mixed groups to be created.
- The webcam and microphone must be open during remote qualification/certification exams. It may also be necessary for us to check that you are the only one in the room.
- We ask that you connect at least 5 minutes before the beginning of the session.
Pedagogy
A combination of practice-based theory, examples and exercises, together with ad hoc feedback from the trainer, provide a nuanced understanding of the use cases of a product compliance system.
