ISO/SAE 21434: Cyber security for road vehicles – #433
Context
- With the development of electrical and electronic (E/E) systems, in-vehicle software and its remote updating (Over The Air), as well as the development of autonomous vehicles, the topic of cybersecurity is becoming highly strategic, with criminal and legal consequences.
- The latest edition of the ISO/SAE 21434 standard, dated 2021, allows for the effective integration of cybersecurity issues applicable throughout the product life cycle and to meet the requirements of vehicle manufacturers.
Objectives
- Know the main cybersecurity threats applicable to electrical and electronic (E/E) components and systems.
- Know how to set up an operational cybersecurity management.
- Know the engineering requirements for cybersecurity risk management in design, product development, production, operations, maintenance and electrical and electronic systems.
- Identify responsibilities within the supply chain.
- Know the applicable legal requirements.
- Have a common language for communication around cyber security risks.
- Know how to perform a cybersecurity risk analysis and assessment with the TARA (Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment) tool, and deal with them effectively.
Recommanded for
- Cybersecurity referents in the company
- Cybersecurity managers, engineers and technicians
- E/E system development quality.
Prerequisites
- The participants have a first knowledge of cybersecurity or functional safety within the automotive world.
- Participants have a professional level of English (assessment template only available in English).
Specific operating conditions for remote sessions
- Have a PC equipped with a microphone, webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: To blur or hide the view from behind, background screens are available in Zoom or Teams.
- A good Internet connection, tested before the session.
- Locate in a quiet, isolated area; switch to « not available » status in Teams; close your email access and mute your phone to avoid distraction during the session.
- To avoid off-topic discussions during the session, participants from the same organisation should not be grouped together in the same room, but rather at their own desks. Virtual sub-groups will be set up specifically for the exercises, which will also allow for mixed groups to be created.
- The webcam and microphone must be open during remote qualification/certification exams. It may also be necessary for us to check that you are the only one in the room.
- We ask that you connect at least 5 minutes before the beginning of the session.
Pedagogy
- A training-action that puts the participants in a situation for a better implementation of the ISO/SAE 21434 standard and a better deployment of the standard’s requirements.
- Exchanges between participants based on their experience in implementing and assessing vehicle cybersecurity risks.
Evaluation mode
- Knowledge test (MCQ).
Course materials
-
Participant file containing the presentations delivered during the training and the exercise materials.
